System Engineer



System Engineer (India - Remote)


We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled System Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to support and maintain our hybrid IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will assist in managing Windows and Linux servers, web servers, databases, email infrastructure, and cloud environments while ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency. The role involves collaborating closely with Development, Client Support, and Operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and uninterrupted functioning of business-critical applications and email platforms.



Key Responsibilities

Server & Infrastructure Administration

Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support business decision-making
Configure and manage web servers including IIS, Nginx, and Caddy.
Install, renew, and troubleshoot SSL/TLS certificates.
Manage DNS records including A, CNAME, MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
Monitor server health, storage, performance, and security, backup, restore, disaster recovery and perform routine maintenance activities.


Email Infrastructure Support

Support and maintain enterprise email delivery infrastructure, including PowerMTA and Rspamd.
Assist in managing IP reputation, reverse DNS (PTR), SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configurations.
Troubleshoot email delivery issues, API connectivity, and related infrastructure problems.
Monitor email services to ensure high deliverability and availability.


Database & Application Support

Perform routine administration of Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB, and PostgreSQL databases.
Execute database backups, monitor performance, and assist in troubleshooting database-related issues.
Deploy and support web applications built using .NET MVC, .NET Core, PHP, Node.js, and React.
Maintain scheduled jobs, automation scripts, and server-side utilities.


Backup & Disaster Recovery

Execute and monitor scheduled backups for servers, databases, and application files.
Verify backup integrity and participate in periodic restoration testing.
Assist in implementing disaster recovery procedures and documentation.


Technical Support & Operations

Provide Level 2 technical support for infrastructure, server, and application-related issues.
Coordinate with Development, Operations, and Client Support teams to resolve incidents.
Participate in infrastructure upgrades, patch management, and system monitoring activities.
Manage and update support tickets using Jira Service Management or similar platforms.
Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system inventory.


Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

Core Infrastructure

Windows Server Administration (2016/2019/2022)
Linux Administration (Ubuntu/RHEL/CentOS)
IIS, Nginx, and Caddy Web Servers
Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
DNS, SSL/TLS Certificates, Domain Management
Cloud Infrastructure management.


Email Infrastructure

Basic to intermediate knowledge of PowerMTA, Rspamd, and SMTP services
Understanding of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, reverse DNS, and email deliverability concepts
Familiarity with IP reputation management is an added advantage


Databases

Microsoft SQL Server
MySQL/MariaDB
PostgreSQL
Backup and restore procedures
Basic database performance troubleshooting


Scripting & Automation

Basic knowledge of PowerShell, Bash, Python, PHP, and SQL scripting
Experience in automating routine administrative tasks is preferred


Application Deployment

Experience deploying or supporting applications developed in:
.NET MVC
.NET Core
PHP
Node.js
React/Javascript languages


Soft Skills

Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing infrastructure requirements


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Red Hat, Linux, Azure, AWS, or other infrastructure certifications are an added advantage.
Experience working with enterprise email marketing infrastructure or high-volume transactional email systems will be preferred but is not mandatory.
